Two Italian and two American musicians who join for a musical exchange to give life to a kind of music which presents all four, though also manifests the diverse cultural background from which each originates.
The genre is jazz, the music which each of them is absorbed and interpreted in its most diverse manifestations.
The repertoire ranges from traditional standards to original pieces and the group is known for its ability to excite their audiences.
Sheppard, one of the most sought-after saxophonists on the international jazz scene, is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music.
Bob Sheppard has long been a ubiquitous figure on the L.A. scene, gigging with everyone from Freddie Hubbard to Andy Laverne. More recently he has played in the Peter Erskine Trio and did a tour with Chick Corea’s “Origin”, Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now Tour” as a soloist, and joined Steely Dan’s “World Tour 2000“.
The list of musicians he has worked with is long: Freddie Hubbard, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Horace Silver, Lyle Mays, Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band, Billy Childs, and Nat Adderley.
As a versatile musicians he has also worked in other genres, playing on CDs with Rickie Lee Jones, Manhattan Transfer, Burt Bacharach, Elvis Costello, Randy Newman, Kurt Elling, Marilyn Scott, and Diane Reeves.
