Guitarist Lorenzo Frizzera, backed by Heiko Jung on the drums and Matthias Eichhorn on double bass, explores the realm of contemporary jazz, offering a series of original compositions which draw inspiration from the vast and varied tradition of the guitar, bass and drum trio and yet succeed in manifesting a marked expressive style characterized by a fresh and energetic sound.
Lorenzo Frizzera is an emerging Italian jazz guitarist and a multi-faceted musician who has developed his own personal style through many important experiences in various musical genres, from performing with giants of jazz such as Jimmy Cobb to a lengthy experience in the world of ethnic music, from electronic music to funk, from renaissance music to big budget pop productions.
The trio will present the songs of its latest release, "Everything Can Change", which included the participation by Joey DeFrancesco, the famous hammond organist who began his career as a youth playing alongside Miles Davis and John McLaughlin. The CD includes nine original compositions that, while upholding the tradition founded by the great fathers of jazz guitar like Wes Montgomery and Jim Hall, draws additional inspiration from more recent innovators like Frisell, Scofield and Metheny.
