Gianni Cazzola is the Italian drummer most associated with the styles swing and bebop, active on the jazz scene for 50 years. Throughout his career Gianni has always worked with younger musicians, endeavouring to give them the benefit of his experience, inspiring them with his energy and imparting his skills as a great swing drummer.
The remaining members of this quintet are four young musicians. In addition to classic American standards the group also plays numbers by the great hard bop composers. The quintet presents original interpretations of compositions by Thelonious Monk, Cedar Walton, Horace Silver, Benny Golson and Art Blakey.
